A Sonnet for the King
I lived the "Life of Riley" in the short time that I had.So when you think of all I've done, please try not to be sad.
I came to my first glory while still a kitten at the shows.
I stole the heart of Marilynn - from there my story grows.
She got me through two Reg'nal wins in just my first show year.
As Fourth Best Kitten, Sixth Best Cat, my future became clear.
I took a break from all the shows, became an awesome sire.
My kittens become Champions, and Grands, and some still Higher!
And then, back to the shows I went, now as an altered cat.
Throughout the World was Best of Best - knocked competition flat.
The whole world cheered me in my tux when I got my award.
Compared to "Life of Nordie," "Life of Riley"'s for the bored.
Now Marilynn, take back your heart and keep me safe inside.
With love so strong, and mem'ry long, I'll never truly die!
